A call to awaken from illusions and embrace the abundant life God offers, inspired by Psalm 4.
CORE Life Midweek Devotional: Surrendering Our Domain
"Therefore, you kings be wise. Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate His rule with trembling. Pay homage to His Son." (Psalms 2:10-11)
Yes. Kings and Queens—that is what we are. Each of us is given some domain to rule over, even if it is only ourselves: our bodies, souls, spirits, hearts, and minds. In the end, the question remains: Will we surrender our domain to be an extension of His Kingdom, or fight to extend our own? Almighty God allows us the choice in this, at least for now. But make no mistake, His kingdom will come. It will come and be carried forward by those who pay homage to His Son. The rest—well, they’ve chosen to try and make it on their own. And that's exactly where they'll be...on their own.
But wait, you might ask: Aren't we always reminded of God‘s love? Surely He’ll let us slide. After all, we’re only human. Hasn't He forgiven us? If He loves us, surely He wouldn’t... Wouldn't what? Wouldn’t allow selfish, hateful, destructive ways to continue. Wouldn’t bring an end to any who wouldn't pay homage to the love of His Son. I am convinced—it's this same love that won't allow a continuation of the evil many cling to even now.
Let’s pray.
Jesus, we choose You. We love You. We trust You for life. Holy Spirit, now fill our hearts with the love of God. And anywhere we still hold to rebellion, help us realize the fear of God and so start down the road to wisdom. Amen.
Yes. Kings and queens under the authority of The King to bring His life to our domain. What do you think? Y’all ready for that? Good. Me too. Come on then. Let’s go!
Reflecting on a powerful weekend of healing and growth, this devotional draws from Psalm 3 to encourage men to overcome fear and striving by trusting in God's deliverance and presence.
Reflect on Psalm 1:1-3 and the invitation to live the good life by delighting in God's ways. Pray for the Essentials Weekend and consider what it means to surrender to God's call.
