A call to awaken from illusions and embrace the abundant life God offers, inspired by Psalm 4.
Deliverance from Fear: Trusting God in Every Battle
"Lord, how many are my foes? How many rise up against me? I will not fear, for from the Lord comes deliverance."
Psalms 3 (Excerpts)
If you’re like me, you know you’ve lost too much life to fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of embarrassment, fear of being left out, fear of… Well, you get the picture.
Fear and hiding. Oh so much hiding. Hiding for fear we might not come through—that our best might not be good enough. Cautious living. Maybe you’ve seen it. Maybe you’ve seen lives taken over by fear. Lives shrinking—becoming smaller every day.
And then there’s the striving. So much striving. Those places we do step up, but feel the pressure—that sense that it’s all on us. I’ve seen great accomplishments come out of striving, but joy… No. Maybe more like relief.
I have to wonder if the best news in all the good news of the Gospel might be the truth that we are not alone. Never forsaken. Yes! As the psalmist writes, “from the Lord comes our deliverance.”
Let’s pray.
Thank You Father for the courage that comes from Your presence. Holy Spirit help us to know the love, goodness and strength of Christ in us, our hope of glory. Amen.
Guys—it can be a little scary, but Daddy's got a big life out there for us. What do you think? Y’all ready? Good. Me too. Come on then. Let’s Go!
Reflecting on Psalms 2:10-11, we are reminded to serve the Lord with reverence and to surrender our lives to His Kingdom, trusting in His love and wisdom.
Reflect on Psalm 1:1-3 and the invitation to live the good life by delighting in God's ways. Pray for the Essentials Weekend and consider what it means to surrender to God's call.
