This Is Love: Sacrifice and Restoration
"This is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 John 4:10
The essence of Love... Sacrifice for someone who can do nothing for me in return. Sacrifice of myself, even for those who are undeserving—even for those who wronged me. Those who could do nothing for me... Except, maybe receive my love and become demonstrations themselves of Love's power to redeem. Love's power to restore us all to the Life we were made for. So I suppose in many ways love is its own reward.
You see it, right? As we love others, in truth we are the ones benefiting most. Yes. In loving—we become Love and so come into union with the God whose image we are made in. Wow!

Almighty God. King of the Universe—Thank You for Your Life and Love shared with us, to share with others. Amen.
