Reflecting on Jesus' promise of peace, this devotional encourages us to trust in God's presence amid life's storms, remembering that we are always secure in Him.
Knowing His Life in Us
"This is how we know that we live in Him and He in us: He has given us of His Spirit." - 1 John 4:13
"He has given us of His Spirit." Do we have the Spirit of Christ? How can we know? What signs would we see? What experiences would we have?
Consider these questions: Where have you and I become the very working out of "His Kingdom come, His will be done" in our own world? Where has the Love of God compelled us to take action, as in our own physical bodies we move to complete what is lacking in regards to Christ's afflictions (Colossians 1:24)?
A friend shared with me this very morning his sense of peace that defied understanding in the midst of a great conflict he faced. Yet because of the peace of Christ in him he was able to offer peace to that hard situation. I believe this is just one way my friend knows "Christ in him—the hope of glory."
Let's pray.
Almighty God, help us know Your Life in us as we experience the gift of Your Spirit. Amen.
Knowing His Life in us as we are given of His Spirit... What do you think? Y'all ready for that? Good. Me too. Come on then. Let's go!
